Behavioral Health Therapist and Unit Director
Job Description
This position is a 40/60 administrative/clinical position. The administrative duties (40 percent) include, but are not limited to, working with the Executive Director and the CFO of Community Counseling Services to manage the day-to-day operation of the “Huron” Out- patient/Children’s Unit within Community Counseling Services and the mental health services provided to the citizens of Hand, Jerald, Beadle, and western side of Kingsbury counties in South Dakota. Community liaison and public relations are an important component of the administrative duties. Clinical Supervision of the mental health staff assigned to the unit and the professional responsibility for all services provided by the unit is a necessity.
Applicants for this position must, at a minimum possess a Master’s Degree within a social science field, and be licensed within their field of practice. Applicants should also have at least two years of clinical experience. The clinical duties (60 percent) include, but are not limited to, providing individual, marital/family, and group counseling and community education/consultation services. Applicants should have experience with the coordination of mental health and chemical dependency services to facilitate a full spectrum of comprehensive and integrated behavioral health services. Assuring clinical supports for the effective and efficient use of psychiatric services provided by the agency’s psychiatrists is mandated. Liaison with the other medical and human service professionals in the three-county service area is expected to facilitate the integration of behavioral and physical health services to the fullest extent possible. Participating in the on-call rotation of the agency is required to include QMHP coverage to meet civil commitment responsibilities of the agency in the service area.
This position is accountable to and under the direct supervision of the CEO and indirectly to the Board of Directors of Community Counseling Services.
The salary range for this position will be between $50,000 and $55,000 (including benefits – health insurance, vacation and sick time, continuing education) depending on experience.
