SUMMARY

The Agency Clinical Director serves as the senior clinical leader by providing advice and counsel to the department directors regarding a broad range of clinical, clinical policy, and strategic issues. The Agency Clinical Director provides leadership and mentoring to the department’s clinical staff and establishes and promotes professional, clinical and ethical values and standards to which all clinical staff are expected to adhere. The Agency Clinical Director also promotes quality of care and is responsible for establishing and maintaining the department’s standards of care a clinical level.

 

EXPECTATIONS

Community Counseling Services expects employees to be welcoming to consumers, including those with co-occurring disorders, and engaging consumers at their current stage of recovery. Services provided will be in accordance with the plans and guidelines as established by Community Counseling Services and the State Division of Behavioral Health. Portray and encourage civility to all clients, customers, employees, community partners and vendors.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Agency Clinical Director, at a minimum will possess a Master’s Degree in a Human Services field and must hold and maintain LPC, LPC-MH, CSW or CSW-PIP, or psychologist licensure within their respective fields. Current QMHP status is preferred, but will be willing to work to obtain QMHP if currently licensed. Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience required.

Certificates, licenses, registrations

  • Valid South Dakota Driver’s license
  • Licensure in respective Behavioral Health field.
  • Must not be excluded from participating in Medicare, Medicaid, and any Federal health care program, as provided by the OIG, USDHHS.Other qualifications  
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct supervision of Clinical Supervisors and indirect for all providers.
  • QMHP or Eligibility for QMHP status

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/CRITICAL JOB ELEMENTS

 

Client Care

  1. Conduct client intake, assessments and diagnostic interviews
  2. Individual and group counseling with clients and family members.
  3. Develop and update treatment plans in a timely manner.
  4. Documentation of all clients related contacts reflecting individual treatment plan.
  5. Complete progress reports and discharge summaries in a timely manner.
  6. Referral to appropriate services to meet client needs.
  7. Participate in and utilize treatment teams concepts.
  8. Case management and liaison services with family and referral sources.

 

Supervisory

  1. Supervision of licensure candidates as assigned
  2. Address clinical questions and issues from the clinical supervisors
  3. Participate in setting and maintain clinical and philosophical integrity of all services as prescribed by all clinical areas of service goals and objectives.
  4. Maintain confidentiality regarding privileged administrative and client information in a professional manner.
  5. Manage agency-wide clinical education
  6. Manage and supervise the outcome measurement tool.
  7. Director compliance reviews in all areas of service.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

 

Operations

  1. Participate in staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, work assignments and performance supervision according to agency policies and individual quota expectations.
  2. Other duties as assigned including (but not limited to) creating and teaching skill-building classes, and participate in meetings of clinical and organization planning and management.
  1. Manage and develop education plans/leave for clinical supervisors with Deputy Director.
  2. Manage and develop productivity plans for clinical supervisors with Deputy Director.
  3. Assist in new staff orientation.
  4. Perform annual performance reviews of clinical supervisors with Deputy Director.
  5. As needed, performance improvement plans with clinical supervisors.
  6. Participate in on-call rotation.
  7. A full time Director will work 40 hours a week.
  8. Due to the nature of the position, the Director will be expected to work a minimum of one evening per week if needed.

 

Licensure & Credentialing

  1. Maintain professional licensure.
  2. Participate with credentialing staff to establish and maintain billing/admitting/service credentials.
