COMMUNITY COUNSELING SERVICES CEO APPOINTED TO STATE ADVISORY COUNCIL

South Dakota Governor, Dennis Daugaard has appointed Community Counseling Services, CEO, Belinda Nelson to the Behavioral Health Advisory Council until October 30, 2018.  This is Nelson’s second term appointment.

According to their by-laws, the purpose of the Advisory Council shall be to guide the Division of Behavioral Health with the planning, coordination and development of the state comprehensive behavioral health services plan. The Advisory Council shall advocate on behalf of persons served to ensure their highest attainable degree of independence, productivity, community integration and quality of services. The Advisory Council will also advise the Division of Behavioral Health on statewide treatment,  prevention, and rehabilitation needs within the current behavioral health system.

Community Counseling Services provides behavioral health services including: psychiatric, counseling services for children and adults, case management, addiction services and youth prevention in the following seven counties:  Beadle, Kingsbury, Hand, Miner, Moody, Lake and Jerauld.
