Our Winter Groups
We are pleased to announce that Community Counseling Services will be offering a range of mental health groups this winter. Our groups are designed to provide a supportive and safe environment for individuals who are seeking to improve their health and well-being. Our experienced counselors will guide you through each session, providing you with the tools and resources you need to manage your mental health effectively. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, or any other mental health issue, our groups are here to help. Join us this winter and take the first step towards a healthier and happier you.
Inner Behavioral Circle
Inner Behavioral Circle: An evidence-informed framework for identifying internal activation, protective urges, and behavioral responses. Supports earlier intervention, improved emotional regulation, and sustainable behavior change.

Proof of Action:
This group will use a cognitive behavioral approach to promote learning how thoughts, emotions, and body reactions connect to behavior. Helping recognize patterns, understand triggers, and practice healthier responses before things escalate.

Anger Management
The purpose of anger management is to help people recognize and handle anger in a healthy way. It’s not about getting rid of anger — it’s a normal emotion — but about learning how to manage it so it doesn’t cause harm or hurt relationships. It focuses on understanding what triggers anger, finding better ways to cope, and responding to situations with more control and respect.

Proof of Action:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most effective approaches used in anger management. It helps individuals understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected — and how changing negative thinking patterns can lead to healthier emotional and behavioral responses.
Who Qualifies:
Designed for adults who are court-ordered to complete anger management or who are seeking personal growth and behavior change.

Holiday Blues
This group provides a supportive space to explore triggers such as family conflict, grief and loss, financial pressures, social expectations, and seasonal changes.

Proof of Action:
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is the main approach we use in the Holiday Blues Group. DBT helps people understand their emotions, stay grounded, and respond to. The goal is to give everyone practical DBT skills they can use to handle tough moments and feel more in control during the holidays. stress in healthier ways—especially during the holiday season when feelings can be heavier.

Healthy Living, Healthy You
This is Session 2 of the Food and Feelings group. Attendees use the skills they learned in Session 1 to make healthy food decisions, create SMART goals for a healthier lifestyle, and review reducing stressors related to eating on a fixed income.

Proof of Action:
CBT in a group setting by reviewing and implementing health changes based on the seven emotions that plague problem eaters: guilt, shame, helplessness, anxiety, disappointment, confusion, and loneliness. Group members are taught to embrace and learn from their feelings, identify and label specific emotions, understand the function of each emotion, and why emotions drive food and eating problems. Group members are encouraged to share strategies for disconnecting feelings from food, discovering emotional triggers, and using their feelings to improve their mental health. This thought process will improve food choice decisions, promote SMART goals for healthier lifestyles, and reduce stressors by implementing coping skills

Survivors of Domestic Violence Group
This group is grounded in trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches consistent with evidence-based practices. Services are delivered with an emphasis on safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment. The group acknowledges the pervasive impact of trauma related to domestic or intimate partner violence and prioritizes emotional and psychological safety while avoiding re-traumatization.

Proof of Action:
Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) "Breaking the Chains of Trauma" is an 8-session, workbook-based cognitive-behavioral program for mental health clients guiding them to understand trauma's impact, develop coping skills, build self-awareness, and create positive identities, using techniques to break free from restrictive patterns to foster resilience and recovery.

WRAP Yourself
To support Adults in successfully managing their quality of life by processing when they are well, how to stay well, when things are breaking down, through their own crisis, and getting back to staying well. This 8-week course promotes personal empowerment, enhances emotional support and physical well-being, and supports long-term recovery and resilience.

WRAP recovery for anxiety
A Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) is a personalized, self-designed system to help anyone manage their mental and physical health, stay well, and achieve life goals by identifying triggers, creating a "wellness toolbox" of self-help strategies, and planning for crises to regain control and improve quality of life. Developed by peers with mental health challenges, it's an evidence-based approach for empowerment and recovery, outlining steps from daily maintenance to crisis intervention.

Proof of Action:
WRAP is a widely recognized and certified as an Evidence Based Practice (EBP). This group will use a holistic strength-based approach to promote hope and control by identifying triggers, warning signs, and action steps for overall well-being

Teen Anger Management

This 6-hour course is designed for teens (13-17) who are seeking personal growth and behavior change. This group is also recognized by the Judicial Courts as an accredited course and will satisfy any court-ordered anger management requirements. Growth and behavior change.
